Hagemeyer Brands Australia Chooses Lawson QuickStep Distribution
SYDNEY, Australia, 04 April 2010 – Lawson Software, a global provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, announced today that Hagemeyer Brands Australia (Hagemeyer), Australasia's leading distributor of premium brands in home appliances, in-home entertainment, out-of-home accessories and leisure equipment, has signed a contract for the implementation of Lawson QuickStep Distribution. The new industry-specific ERP solution package for distribution was designed to deliver pre-built content that Hagemeyer can use to establish a solid business solution. The Lawson system will provide Hagemeyer with the tools to better manage the distribution of each of its brands across Australia and New Zealand with greater speed and precision. The contract was signed during Lawson’s third quarter of fiscal 2011, which ended Feb. 28, 2011.
Based in Kingsgrove in Sydney, Australia, with offices and showrooms across Australia, Hagemeyer has been in operation in the Australasian region for the past 60 years. As part of the Rexel Group, a global player in the distribution of electrical equipment, Hagemeyer is the principal marketer and distributor in Australia and New Zealand for some of the world's most desirable brands including: European cooking and wet products from Omega, Blanco and De Dietrich; consumer electronics products from JVC Australia and New Zealand; photographic products from Polaroid; and seasonal heating and cooling products from Omega Altise and Eurolux.
“Our aim is to provide customers with high quality and well-designed consumer brands, as well as to give international brand owners a gateway to the most vibrant consumer market in the southern hemisphere,” said Mark Bilton, CEO of Hagemeyer. “It’s critical that each brand’s distribution is managed by a precision distribution hub that keeps stock turning over efficiently, on time and on budget across our vast markets down under. I’m delighted that our new partnership with Lawson will give us a solid ERP solution designed around our needs today and provides a platform to help support our future growth in the region. I’m also confident with the technology direction Lawson is taking to support the business requirements of our company and the distribution industry as a whole.”
Following an extensive evaluation of several ERP software offerings, Hagemeyer selected the Lawson solution to replace a 20-year-old, highly modified legacy system that was inflexible and inefficient. In addition to the core Lawson QuickStep Distribution solution, Hagemeyer will also deploy Lawson Business Intelligence, Lawson M3 Analytics, Demand Planner, Lawson Sales and Marketing Automation, ProcessFlow Integrator, Lawson Learning Accelerator and Lawson eSales.
“Hagemeyer has built an impressive business in the Australasian region since 1946. The new Lawson QuickStep Distribution solution will help establish a backbone of its operations now and into the future by helping it better handle high-order volumes. It will also help Hagemeyer more efficiently manage a wide assortment of products and give it greater control over its complex supply chain,” said David Hope, general manager and regional managing director of Lawson Software, Asia Pacific & Japan.
